Operational Excellence, Certification Services, Six Sigma Master Black Belt
Jen serves the WMEP as a Six Sigma Master Black Belt and Consultant in Operational Excellence and Certification Services for the North Region.
She works with small and mid-size manufacturers regarding Lean Six Sigma Green Belt and Black Belt classes and projects, Process Improvement Teams, TWI-Job Relations and Job Instruction Training, Lean Tools, Change Management, Continuous Improvement/Lean Transformation, and ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 14001:2015 gap analysis, implementation, internal audits, and internal auditor training.
“I love to learn, teach and mentor and the WMEP is a great avenue to be able to do that,” she said. “I really like the variety of ways I can assist Wisconsin manufacturers, and am amazed at all that is being manufactured in Wisconsin.”
Jen previously worked for the WMEP from October 2012 to January 2014. She returned after a 20-month stint as Continuous Improvement Leader at Intertape Polymer Group in Menasha, which provided her additional insight and experience to better serve WMEP clients’ needs.
Jen has 22 years of manufacturing experience, including 15 years in various positions at Appleton Papers, now known as Appvion. She also was a Quality Manager at Exopack, now known as Coveris, in Menasha.
She earned Bachelor of Science degrees in Chemistry, and Paper Science and Engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point. Jen is a certified Lean-Six Sigma Master Black Belt and she received this designation from Villanova University.
Born and raised in the Wausau area, Jen enjoys animals and the outdoors. She and her husband, Brian, live in the country on 21 acres and share the property with a variety of animals. Their primary focus is assisting their son, Kelvin, regarding his small swine business and providing people with healthy, all-natural options when it comes to pork, chickens, and eggs. She grew up around horses and competed in horse shows and rodeos.
“Raising animals from beginning to end, and seeing that they have the best life possible is very rewarding,” she said.
The couple has two children, Kelvin, who is focused in Agriculture, and Briana, who is focused on competitive swimming.
