Today, manufacturers have unprecedented availability of data due to the growing use of computerized equipment, shop-floor control software and business systems.
This offers manufacturers significant opportunities to make intelligent, data-driven decisions for gaining competitive advantages.
“Yet, most companies struggle in doing so due to a lack of understanding of how to efficiently and effectively synthesize and analyze the data to achieve desired business outcomes,” said Dr. Raj Veeramani, Executive Director of the UW E-Business Institute and UW E-Business Consortium, Wisconsin’s leading university-industry partnership focused on helping industry gain competitive advantage through digital business strategies and best practices.
Veeramani will co-lead a session at WMEP Manufacturing Solutions’ Manufacturing Matters! Conference called “Driving Business Success Through Data, Analytics and Business Intelligence” on Feb. 27 at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Milwaukee.
Veeramani also is the Founding Director of the UW Internet of Things Systems Research Center, a hub for university-industry partnership focused on research, innovation and collaborative learning of IoT and industrial analytics.
He will team with Shawn Helwig, managing partner of Total View Analytics, a Waunakee data analytics firm, for the session. Helwig has been a business and technology consultant for more than 20 years and has successfully formed, grown and led business intelligence and analytics consulting practices for more than a decade.
“Attendees will be introduced to a structured framework for business intelligence and various examples of using data visualization and analytics to support decision-making,” Veeramani said. “They will take away actionable tools and insights to help enhance their company’s growth, productivity, quality and profitability.”
