Economic Trends 2022 – Presented by Biztimes Media @ Italian Community Center
Jan 27 @ 7:00 am – 10:30 am

Economic Trends 2022

Is 2022 The Year of the Great Reallocation?

Inflation. Supply chain issues. Labor force challenges. The lingering COVID-19 pandemic. These and other factors are leading to major economic shifts and reallocations in supply and demand.

With so much in flux, what lies ahead for the economy in 2022? Will the Fed raise interest rates? Will consumer spending keep up as prices rise? What’s coming down the road for tax policy and government spending?

Economist Michael Knetter Ph.D. and leading industry experts will provide their perspectives and answers to these questions and more at the 21st annual Economic Trends breakfast on January 27, 2022.  The panelists will discuss the economic outlook for manufacturing, food and beverage, logistics, transportation and construction in southeast Wisconsin. Mike Knetter will share perspectives about fiscal, monetary and trade policies that may shape the larger trends in these industries.

Featured Speakers:

Michael Knetter Ph.D., University of Wisconsin Foundation [1]
Tina Chang, CEO, SysLogic [2]
Jonas Prising, Chairman/CEO, ManpowerGroup [3]
Sandi Siegel, President. M.E. Dey & Co. [4]

The Secret to Improving Your Leadership….Really @ Free Online Webinar

The Secret to Improving Your Leadership… Really

Free Online Webinar Hosted by the MEP National Network

Why do so few leadership improvement efforts produce the results that leaders and business sponsors want? What is in the way? Through decades of working with manufacturers to help them improve their companies and leadership, we’ve discovered that there are five common obstacles to leadership improvement that must be overcome in order to achieve the desired results.

We’ve also developed a process that will help any organization improve their leaders – and not just a little improvement, but the “who are you and what have you done with my old leader” type of improvement that we’re all after in our development efforts.

Join Keith Gammill from the Arkansas Manufacturing Extension Partnership as he discusses:

1. The five common obstacles to leadership improvement and a methodology to overcome them
2. The importance of vision and what it does for your leadership
3. How to apply the Toyota Kata improvement methodology to leadership improvement
4. Why so many confuse management for leadership and why this matters
5. The Transformational Leadership Improvement process through the lens of a frontline leader
6. How to improve your workplace resilience

Apr 29 @ 8:00 am – 4:00 pm

This premier manufacturing industry conference takes place at the Hyatt Regency in Milwaukee on April 29th, with a Celebration of Wisconsin Manufacturing reception the evening of April 28th.  View the conference agenda HERE.

The recent manufacturing environment has certainly been bumpy, leading manufacturers to react to rapidly evolving situations, and make mid-course adjustments. And most agree this bumpiness is likely to continue into the foreseeable future.

A key challenge for manufacturers today is to thrive rather than just survive these turbulent times. With that in mind, “Thriving Through Turbulence” is the theme for Manufacturing Matters! 2022.

The conference will focus on highlighting the practices of manufacturers who are thriving through this turbulent environment, as well as sharing expert insights into what organizations can do going forward to be more resilient and adaptive to change.

Two keynote speakers, and 12 sessions in 4 tracks are featured in this year’s conference. The conference tracks are:

· People
· Leadership
· Improvement/Automation
· Innovation

Our Supervisor Skills course will help develop and refresh your skills as a leader and offer a renewed outlook on true relational leadership.

Companies are demanding more from their supervisors while promoting younger, less experienced leaders. Leaders maximize results by earning the respect of those they lead, reducing opposition from followers, and enlisting buy-in from their teams.

After attending this course, learners will recognize the tools needed to enhance their abilities as a supervisor.

The learner will be able to:

  • Modify their own personal leadership style for more effectiveness
  • Better relate to subordinates, peers and superiors based on the behavioral characteristics of all
  • Apply listening and communication skills to enhance information flow and increase department effectiveness and efficiency
