In this session, we will discuss the role of the zero waste hierarchy and other waste reduction strategies in the journey to zero waste. We will discuss the TRUE certification framework, which is the US Green Building Council and Green Business Certification Inc. (GBCI) zero waste certification program. TRUE certification aims to support facilities and businesses in achieving their zero waste goals by providing a clear path to certification using a points-based rating system and educational tools such as the TRUE Advisor program.

We will share a business case study example of the journey to zero waste, including what challenges were overcome.

AGENDA:

More about TRUE Certification:

TRUE certification aims to support facilities and businesses in achieving their zero waste goals by providing a clear path to certification using a points-based rating system and educational tools such as the TRUE Advisor program. TRUE certified spaces are environmentally responsible, more resource efficient, and help turn waste into savings and additional income streams. By closing the loop, they cut greenhouse gases, manage risk, reduce litter and pollution, reinvest resources locally, create jobs, and add more value for their company and community. TRUE also certifies events to improve their sustainability.

Green Business Certification (GBCI) is the premier organization independently recognizing excellence in green business industry performance and practice globally and administers all LEED green building certifications.
