Ty Charles, is the founder and owner of GreenLight E Recycling L.L.C, both minority and veteran owned. Prior to starting this business Ty proudly served in the United States Marine Corps for 12 years.

After his military service, Ty worked in various jobs all the while knowing at some point he would own his own company. He started GreenLight E Recycling L.L.C in 2016 with the intent of making his city and state a green sanctuary for future generations. Ty works with various companies, schools, municipalities throughout Wisconsin and the Midwest. Helping them with their electronic recycling and other recycling needs.

GreenLight E Recycling L.L.C is a green company and strives to keep recyclable items of all kinds ( Electronics, plastics, cardboard, paper, and etc) out of landfills. Each client that we serve we let them know all materials are recyclable. We strive to become the MacGyver for each one of our clients. The GreenLight E Recycling L.L.C model is “Taking over the world one recyclable at a time.”

Lisa Bauer-Lotto, M.S., Corporate Director, Environmental & Sustainability, Green Bay Packaging

As Corporate Director of Environmental and Sustainability, Lisa leads strategic planning for Green Bay Packaging and is instrumental in directing environmental compliance, sustainability, and fiber certification programs for a paper company with five (5) product lines, 38 manufacturing sites in 15 states.

Captivated with learning and devoted to giving back to the community, she contributes to various national and state trade associations. Lisa is currently involved in the American Forest and Paper Association (AFPA), National Council Air and Stream Improvement (NCASI) and Wisconsin Paper Council, but has previously served on the following community and charity organizations: President/Board of Directors for Trees For Tomorrow, Brown County Solid Waste Board, City of Green Bay Water Utility Commissioner and Advisory Committee for Northeast Wisconsin Technical College (NWTC) Environmental Engineering.

In her 29-year military, Captain Bauer held numerous leadership positions in the US Navy, as a Plans Operations Medical Intelligence Officer. She established the first U.S. Navy humanitarian aid mission to El Salvador, providing medical service to more than 7000 people; and lead planner on numerous joint military service exercises in country and around the world.

She is a detective at heart – exposing herself to new products and lifestyles, creating best practices and adapting to the evolving industry which allows her to successfully partner her B.S. in Chemistry-Business and a Master in Environmental Science at Green Bay Packaging.

Michelle Miller, Senior Sustainability & Product Stewardship Specialist, Appvion Operations, Inc.

Michelle is responsible for the overall development and implementation of company sustainability programs and objectives. Michelle is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin – Oshkosh with a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Studies and Sustainable Management. Her experience in occupational health and safety, environmental compliance, product stewardship, and marketing and supply chain support, provides a diverse and well-rounded proficiency in sustainability impacts. She is dedicated to business and community engagement through her active membership of the North East Wisconsin Sustainability Leaders Group (NEWS LG), involvement in event planning for the Sustainability Institute for Regional Transformations (SIRT) at UW-Oshkosh, as well as being the chair of the Events Committee for the Appvion Young Professionals Network.

Cheryl Weisensel, CFM, Director of Facilities, UW Credit Union 

Cheryl Weisensel, Facilities Director, has been with UW Credit Union for the past 10 years, and oversees the facilities and security for 28 branches and 4 Admin locations throughout WI. Sustainability is a key component of facilities decisions and has continued to be supported by all levels of the organization. UWCU has embraced “being green” since 2008 when the Green Team was formed and is proud to be distinguished in the community as a sustainability leader with recognition as a 2011 and 2017 MPower Champion, received the 2013 EPA Green Power Leadership Award, and achieved the Wisconsin Sustainable Business Council’s Green Master Award for the past four years.

Cheryl has 35 years of diverse experience in Interior Design, Project Management, and Facilities Management including a Steelcase Furniture Dealership, the State of Wisconsin and AAA. Cheryl has a Bachelor of Science from the University of Wisconsin – Madison, earned her NCIDQ certification, Wisconsin Commercial Building Inspection certification, Wisconsin Register Interior Design certification, and her IFMA Certified Facility Manager® certification.

About the Green Masters Program

The Green Masters Program, is an assessment, recognition, and certification tool for businesses to measure, learn, and improve their sustainability outcomes. It’s a comprehensive self-assessment that is scored based on the effort and impact of actions across nine sustainability categories. It’s a credential that can validate and certify any business’s sustainability actions.

Program Facts:

  • An average of 120 businesses apply annually from various sectors and sizes.
  • In 2020, manufacturing made up the largest sector of applicants at 36%, followed by professional services at 12%.
  • Small businesses with fewer than 100 employees made up 35% of program participants in 2020.
  • Each year the top 20% of companies in the program are recognized as Masters. The highest-level scores have progressively increased year after year. In 2013, the cutoff to reach green master status was 423, and in 2020, it was 628.
  • Businesses are moving forward on the sustainability continuum. The average score across all sectors in 2009 was 70, and in 2019 it was 534.
  • Businesses that have been long time supporters and reached Green Masters status include: Kohls, Kohler, Lands’ End, Madison Gas & Electric, Rockwell Automation, Evolution Marketing, American Family Insurance, Cuna Mutual, Green Bay Packaging, Menasha Corporation, Mercury Marine, Kruger International, Phillips-Medisize, Covia, CNH Industrial, Lauterbach Group, UW Health, and Oshkosh Corporation.
