Taking Your Supervisor Skills to the Next Level – The Ingleside Hotel – Pewaukee @ The Ingleside Hotel
Feb 3 @ 8:00 am – 4:00 pm

Taking Your Supervisor Skills to the Next Level

In-person Supervisor Skills Development Course offered over four days

February 3, February 10, February 17 and February 24, 2021

Good leadership is not just characterized by the ability to motivate a group toward a common goal-it’s the ability to cross over from being a person employees HAVE to follow, to a person employees WANT to follow. Our Supervisor Skills course will help develop and refresh your skills as a leader and offer a renewed outlook on true relational leadership.

Companies are demanding more from their supervisors while promoting younger, less experienced leaders. Combine that with an influx of a younger, independent workforce; It is necessary for manufacturers to provide skills necessary to better communicate, motivate, and/or otherwise enhance supervisor skill sets.

Leaders maximize results by earning the respect of those they lead, reducing opposition from followers, and enlisting buy-in from their teams.

After attending this course, learners will recognize the tools needed to enhance their abilities as a supervisor.

The learner will be able to:

  • Modify their own personal leadership style for more effectiveness
  • Better relate to subordinates, peers and superiors based on the behavioral characteristics of all
  • Apply listening and communication skills to enhance information flow and increase department effectiveness and efficiency
  • Apply good time management principles to maximize available time by setting priorities

Join us for this four day workshop to learn how to enhance your skills and fill the gap with leadership development.

Cost:  $975 per person.  Continental breakfast and lunch provided daily.

Speakers:  WMEP will provide experienced consultants for each training date.  Speakers may vary by date.

Manufacturing Matters! 2021 – Virtual Conference @ Virtual Online with registration access
Feb 25 @ 8:00 am – 3:30 pm

Manufacturing Matters! 2021 will be held virtually on Thursday, February 25th, 2021.

Plans that manufacturers made heading into 2020 were greatly disrupted as they faced extraordinary challenges that required them to quickly adapt to an unstable and rapidly changing business environment. After an initial period of uncertainty, manufacturers refocused their priorities on what was most important and got back to work.

Manufacturers’ business outlook is gradually improving, and companies are seeking to make up ground and advance their organizations in the coming year. The companies most likely to succeed are the ones who are agile and can quickly make small and large course adjustments to address challenges and take advantage of opportunities.

“Adapt & Advance” is the theme of Manufacturing Matters! 2021, and this year’s conference will share insights into how organizations and individuals can overcome challenges and turn disruptions into opportunities for growth. The manufacturing landscape remains dynamic, and the new economy favors those who position themselves to succeed regardless of market forces and disruptions.

We are very excited for this year’s conference which features two terrific keynote speakers who are experts at thriving in challenging circumstances.

Our morning keynote speaker is Mike Evans, an award-winning author/speaker who has worked with 31 Fortune 50 companies. Mike served in executive leadership and consulting roles with Kotter International, FranklinCovey, and Tom Peters Company. Mike is an expert on the topic of disruption, and he will speak to how companies can thrive and excel in the new world of work.

Very few among us have encountered, much less overcome, challenges like the ones faced by Jim Davidson, our afternoon keynote speaker. Davidson is a New York Times Best-Selling author of The Ledge: An Inspirational Story of Friendship and Survival, and was featured on the International TV show I Shouldn’t Be Alive on the Discovery Channel. Jim will share stories, lessons and techniques for overcoming adversity and reaching lofty goals.

This year’s conference also features 12 breakout sessions in three tracks (Leadership, Operations, and Business Performance). These sessions include expert presentations and best practice panels that demonstrate how companies rapidly adapt to dynamic environments and advance their organizations. The full conference agenda will be announced in December. Click here to see agenda for more details.

We hope you can join us at our 2021 Manufacturing Matters! Conference. We invite you to take advantage of Early Bird pricing. During the early bird period individuals from manufacturing companies can register for just $125!

Speaker: Lynn McIntosh – Consultant, EHSE Management Solutions, LLC – Lynn McIntosh is a leader developing, implementing, and sustaining EHS&E management systems. Over the past 30 plus years she has served in a variety of Environmental, Health, Safety, and Energy positions working to help improve environmental health safety and energy performance.

Lynn believes in the power of the management system to improve environmental, health, safety, and energy performance. Clients value her experience, collaborative approach and ability to complete tasks, and meet rigorous deadlines. Most organizations are challenged with turnover and less than perfect succession planning within the EHS&E business process. The management system whether certified or not, provides the foundation for the EHS&E functions, and can substantially support the organization as it can rely on the system.

Early in her career, Lynn understood successful EHS&E management is based on the principle of plan what you do, do what you plan. Many organizations rely on reactive tools and miss planning plus data analysis to focus where improvement and control is required.

Lynn has led or assisted hundreds of clients through the management system process for environmental, health and safety, and energy management systems. She uses the Plan Do Check Act cycle to bring structure and control, assign roles and responsibilities, and give leadership an organized means to make decisions, and measure improvement. She has used this process with automotive clients, truck and bus manufacturers, agriculture and construction equipment manufacturers, mining industry, food manufacturing and distributors, heavy steel, plastics manufacturers, among others.

Such a system must also be integrated into and reflective of the culture of the organization.

Having been in EHSE leadership roles, Audrey knows what it means to develop, implement and maintain a management system. She has achieved performance improvement by effective performance reporting, engaging management, collaborating with key stakeholders, auditing and developing people. She believes in the importance of effective EHSE data management and the power of accurate EHSE data to accelerate change and increase awareness.

Audrey was a leading force in connecting ISO management system elements to the work associated with World Class Manufacturing and Sustainability. She saw the linkages and developed EHSE business processes to serve them all efficiently and effectively.

Audrey also has extensive experience in managing EHSE projects and teams to execute projects of varying scopes and budgets and meeting deadlines. Clients value her hands-on and keep-it-simple approach as well as her strategic and results oriented focus to solve EHSE challenges.
