Preventive Controls Qualified Individual Training Workshop

Event Dates: April 3rd, 4th and 5th

M3 Insurance is offering a two and half day seminar on training to meet the “Preventive Controls Qualified Individual” (PCQI) requirement under Subpart C – Hazard Analysis and Risk-based Preventive Controls [§ 117.126 Food Safety Plan].  The PCQI is responsible for oversight of the written food safety plan at their respective food processing facility. Successful completion of this course provides the attendee with a certificate for this training.

Course Takeaways

This workshop will follow the FDA approved curriculum developed by the Food Safety Preventive Controls Alliance [FSPCA], and includes:

  • Overview of the Preventive Controls for Human Food [PCHF] rule
  • Current Good Manufacturing Practice and other Prerequisite Programs
  • Hazard Analysis and Preventive Controls Determination
  • Development of Process, Allergen, Sanitation and Supplier Preventive Controls
  • Recall Plan
  • Record-Keeping Requirements

The working exercises presented during the training are designed to provide practical details covering all the required components of the written food safety plan mandated within the Preventive Controls for Human Food [PCHF] rule.

Featured Speaker, Matt Mathison

Matt Mathison is owner of Matt Mathison Consulting, and provides technical resources covering dairy safety/quality, regulatory compliance, crisis management and consumer confidence programs to the dairy industry. Previously Matt worked for the Wisconsin Milk Marketing Board (WMMB) now Dairy Farmers of Wisconsin where he served as Vice President of Dairy Company Communications and Technical Services. Matt was with DFA for over 20 years, and has over 38 years of experience in the dairy and food industry.

 

Matt is a Lead Instructor for the FSPCA standardized curriculum for Preventive Controls Qualified

Matt is also a past president of the Wisconsin Association for Food Protection. His education includes:

  • B.S. degree in Microbiology from UW-Madison in 1975
  • MBA degree from Edgewood College-Madison in 2002

Cost of the workshop will be $399 through March 15th. After March 15th the cost will go up to $425. This fee will cover registration, all materials (participant manual, exercise workbook and certificate of training], lunch and breaks each day.
