Dave Smith, Principal at DSSmithCFO – Dave Smith is a Senior financial and operations executive with over 30 years of experience in manufacturing and distribution and has served as CFO for both private equity and public entities. He is known for his ability to streamline processes, eliminate waste, improve internal control procedures and develop future leaders. In addition, he has extensive experience in international business operations as well as acquisitions and divestitures. Dave is recognized for his ability to effectively lead organizations through times of turmoil and/or rapid change.
Moderator – George Bureau – WMEP Vice-President of Consulting Services – George brings more than 25 years of leadership, strategy, sales, marketing, quality and operations experience across a spectrum of manufacturing and service sectors.
These include both business-to-business and business-to-consumer channels in consumer products, paper, packaging and energy.

Before coming to the WMEP, George served as principal of Str-Axios Consulting, which focuses on profitably growing businesses through strategy development, deployment, alignment, growth initiatives and cultural change.
He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Geological Science from Penn State University and an MBA from York College in York, Pennsylvania. George also serves as an adjunct professor, teaching corporate strategy and international trade and finance in the Lakeland College MBA program. He also teaches international leadership for Concordia University Wisconsin’s Master of Liberal Arts program and entrepreneurship at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point.
