MSOE’s Rader School of Business has offered business and management degrees for more than 60 years. Our unique blend of business and technical courses — plus real-world experience gained through internships and innovative laboratories — will give you a competitive edge in today’s dynamic business environment. Our programs emphasize the understanding and application of current technology and the business practices essential for success in the 21st century.

Technical sales talent is in high demand and short supply. Products and solutions are becoming more technical every day and companies need strong technical salespeople to help solve customer problems and communicate value to the businesses they work with. MSOE offers excellent educational paths to prepare students for this exciting career opportunity.

MSOE’s Bachelor of Business Administration in Technical Sales degree was developed as part of a proprietary transfer agreement between MSOE and WTCS (Wisconsin Technical College System). This agreement delivers a unique career opportunity for students with a technical Associate in Applied Science (AAS). Students can transfer from a WTCS school to MSOE with junior standing and complete a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) Technical Sales degree in about 2 years. More information.

The technical sales curriculum was built from the ground up, factoring in needs from partner companies, the marketplace and industry advisors. MSOE instructors have deep industry experience and bring a wealth of real-world examples, industry-based case studies, best practices, and productivity tools to the classes. Students acquire key technical selling knowledge and skills through classes in Psychology of Selling, Networking and Prospecting, Sales Process and Pipeline, Sales Forecasting and Metrics, Communication, and Presentation Skills.

We also created a two-day technical sales workshop to address professionals already out in industry to grow or skill up their teams. This workshop leverages most of the core tech sales curriculum but is enhanced to better meet the needs of an existing salesperson. It introduces and trains sales teams on the tools, best practices and sales knowledge needed to help move them to the next level in their technical sales journey. More information.

MSOE also offers workforce development to help spur organizational growth. With a variety of short courses, professional education opportunities and advanced degree offerings, MSOE is your source for helping employees stay current or advance their skills. Professional education opportunities include fluid power seminars, technological development, customized learning, managerial and organizational improvement, project management, leadership skills, Six Sigma, and technical skills

Companies can also power their talent pipeline and help develop MSOE’s emerging talent at the same time. MSOE students are ready to hit the ground running on day one as interns or full-time employees. The university holds several on-campus recruitment events and career fairs throughout the academic year. To connect with their future workforce, employers are invited to create an account on MSOE’s Handshake platform, sponsor undergraduate student projects, mentor a project team and more.
